Cast Bios
Cara Seymour (Sarah)
Cara Seymour has appeared in several acclaimed films, including
Dancer in the Dark, American Psycho and Mary Harron’s
new film The Ballad of Betty Page. In 2003, she was
nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding
Performance by the Cast of a Theatrical Motion Picture, for
the film Adaptation. This year, she appeared in Evergreen,
which was developed by the Sundance Institute and screened
at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. Other recent films include
Hotel Rwanda, Birth, and Gangs of New
York. Cara Seymour resides in New York City.
Danny Alexander (Jake)
15-year-old Danny Alexander makes his feature film debut
in Steal Me. He began acting as a child in community
theater in Northern California. After performing in The
Wizard of Oz and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor
Dream Coat, he went on to tour the Midwest - under the
auspices of ABC - -Radio Disney performance, where he sang
in his distinctive R&B style.
Currently in the studio finishing an album, he credits his
mother as the main musical inspiration in his life. As a concert
pianist, she exposed him to all kinds of music from a very
young age. Danny Alexander is currently a high school junior in
Southern California, and plans on continuing to pursue film
acting. Of Steal Me, Kevin Thomas of the
Los Angeles Times writes that Danny makes a "notable
screen debut" as "Jake" -
"a masterful portrayal."
Hunter Parrish (Tucker)
Born in Richmond, Virginia, Hunter Parrish grew up in Texas,
where his family owned a pet store. Mostly home-schooled,
the 17-year-old actor got his start doing theater as a young
teen, doing plays like Kiss Me Kate, and even tackling
Moliere in Imaginary Invalid.
He made his feature debut playing Lance in Joe Nussbaum’s
comedy Sleepover, and soon will appear in Down
In The Valley with Edward Norton. Steal Me is
his third film, and his most challenging role to date. He
is currently starring in the Showtime series Weeds
with Mary Louise Parker. Hunter Parrish currently resides
in Los Angeles.
John Terry (John)
John Terry, a native Floridian, discovered acting through
a series of fortunate events while building custom log homes
in North Carolina. After performing in a few local theater
productions, he moved to Alaska and helped start a river rafting
company. On his thirtieth birthday, he moved to New York and
tried his hand at full time acting.
He has lived in New York, London, Los Angeles and currently
resides in Park City, Utah. Along the way he has worked with
Stanley Kubrick in Full Metal Jacket, Norman Jewison
in In Country, Gary Sinise in Of Mice and Men
and most recently with Melissa Painter in Steal Me.
His TV work includes Against the Grain, ER, 24 and
is currently playing Matthew Fox's father in a recurring role
on Lost. Later this year he can be seen in the Steven
Spielberg produced TNT show Into the West.
Paz de la Huerta (Lily Rose)
Paz de la Huerta has been acting since the age of four. She
made her screen debut in Good Machine’s Luminous
Motion and gained notice for her role in the Cider
House Rules. Since then she has appeared in fourteen
films, including Ethan Hawke’s Chelsea Walls, A
Walk to Remember, Bringing Rain, and Homework.
Steal Me is her second film with Melissa Painter
and the role of Lily Rose was written especially for her.
Aside from acting, she is a skilled artist, designer, and
writer who also enjoys listening to punk rock. She just completed
Henry Jaglom’s Hollywood Dreams with Karen
Black and Justin Kirk, and Lions Gate’s Fierce People
which will be released in the fall. Paz de la Huerta resides
in Tribeca, New York, with her mother and sister.
Toby Poser (Grace)
Toby Poser appeared in Maria Maggenti’s The Incredible
Adventure of Two Girls in Love (Sundance ’95) and
was a series regular on Guiding Light (as Amanda
Spaulding). More recently, she has appeared in Loren-Paul
Caplin’s The Lucky Ones, which premiered at
last year’s Tribeca Film Festival, and Bad Liver
& Broken Heart, directed by Terry Stacey.
In addition to various off-Broadway credits and extensive
voice-over work, other notable television projects include
Sex in the City, Law and Order, and The Street.
She and Cara Seymour (Sarah) shared the stage in Mike Leigh’s
play Naked in New York. Prior to their collaboration
on Steal Me, she made two short films with Melissa
Painter (Private Residence and California).
The role of Grace was written especially for her.
